How we can help Gaza?
A sister in Pakistan asked me how can she help Gaza on a WhatsApp status update I posted. And so many people asked our team in Norway/ Finland/ Sweden and across Europe, how effective their donation is in helping Gaza survive this genocide. This page hopefully, answers most of those questions. If you have more questions, you can contact us, and find your answers, in'sha'Allah. Remember, it is a joint-effort - your donations are helping us in creating this impact.
Palestine has over 2 million people with massive barricades, fences, threats followed by aggressive occupation of foriegners. It is like a big prison where movement is subject to permits by Israeli authorities. Sadly many administrative routine operations have also been hijacked. Amid this chaos, the biggest concern has been to keep the economy functional and running. So people inside this prison can hold their grounds and defend their rights. All humanitarian organisations are working hands-in-hands in Gaza to keep the region afloat.
How We Can Help?
We have established our offices inside Egypt and Gaza. We are Europe based organisation so it is not possible to register with the same name in Egypt/ Gaza. Therefore, we have established partnership with local organisations both in Egypt (Resala Foundation, Nasr City, Cairo Egypt) and in Gaza (Unlimited Friends for Social Development, Dair el Blah Gaza). We have separate offices with dedicated employees working in both offices.
Our these offices coordinate - supervise - lead on ground operations to facilitate beneficiaries, prepare reports and respond to donors. Our partners who are being facilitated through these offices are Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Aghosh UK, Aghosh USA, Innocents Norway & Save Life Norway.
So coming back to the main question of 'how anyone can help Gaza' - we believe it is through your trusted charity organisation that is operating in Gaza. Just donate to any organization that you feel aligns with the cause of saving Gaza. And keep track of your donations. Regularly ask them for feedback on how your money is being spent. Ask hard questions so your imanah, is spent at its promised place.
We have constructed 3 relief programs over the past few years to effectively disburse your funds and respond to donors. You can donate in any of the below programs.
1. Gaza Relief Fund
The Gaza Relief Fund delivers direct humanitarian assistance inside Gaza. This is the fastest and most effective way to help families survive the ongoing genocide.
Our daily operations are focused on:
- Cooked meals for over 1,000 families daily
- Monthly delivery of 374,000 liters of clean water
- Food parcels, cash aid, hygiene kits
- Medical support, baby formula, and winter clothing
2. Sponsor a Gaza Orphan (First-of-its-kind)
We have provided web portals to our team in Gaza - that helps them see latest donations, alert beneficiaries and respond to donor queries. We are trying to build portals for beneficiaries so the work load can be automated further - and beneficiaries themselves can connect with the donors.
The payment is provided to the registered guardian of the orphan on monthly basis. Under some cases where the child is going through a trauma or needs medical help - we make sure that this help is provided.
Program focuses on:
- Monthly financial support to orphaned families
- Education through makeshift schools in Gaza
- Clothing, meals, religious education
- Regular meetup-events to keep the children engaged
3. Sponsor Gaza Orphans in Egypt
Some of Gaza’s families had re-located to Egypt. We filtered out the list of orphans out of these families - and started working on it as a dedicated project with dedicated team to look-after these children. The same system we had built for orphans inside Gaza, is now in use for gaza-orphans in Egypt.
Your donation covers:
- Safe housing in Egypt
- Food, clothing, and school materials
- Religious and psychological support
- Regular meetups with engagement activities
Our Impact So Far
- More than 1000 ton food and aid
- Shelter materials, tents, blankets, hygiene kits
- Cash support to over 800 low-income families
- A school in North Gaza educating 150 students
- A prayer center and Quran memorization hub in Khan Younis
